What does Peds-R-Us stand for?
Pediatrics-R-Us Medical Education, L.L.C.

What does Peds-R-Us Medical education teach?
We teach better ways to care for kids across the lifespan. Primarily, we focus on pediatric emergency topics we offer full-day, half-day, and 1-hour seminars. We do offer a few selected adult emergency & critical care seminars.

Why should we use Peds-R-Us speakers instead of our in-house staff?
The availability of your own in-house staff may be limited.  We are flexible & available to teach day, evening, or night seminars. In addition our speakers are experts in the fields of pediatrics and education thus creating an excellent combination for your in-house programs.

Are CEU’s offered for all courses?
Nursing courses are approved through the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA). EMS credits are approved through the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Department of EMS. Respiratory therapy credits are approved through the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC)

How expensive is it to book a full-day seminar verses just a one-hour lecture?
Our full-day seminars (6 – 8 hours) can be the most cost effective way to bring educational programs to your staff. In most cases, the cost of hosting an all day in-house seminar is much more reasonable than sending a group of your staff to an all day off site program. Costs vary depending upon course location and desired speaker(s). For less than full-day seminars, we charge a flat rate depending upon the speaker, course location, and length of presentation.

Other than the speaker’s honorarium, are there any other expenses?
The travel expenses for the speaker to and from your event are also an expense you will be responsible for. We make all necessary arrangements; hotel, rental car, taxi, bus or limo service, airfare etc. A detailed invoice for these expenses including receipts will be submitted to you after the event for reimbursement. If your organization prefers to make the arrangements or handle a portion such as picking up the speaker at the airport, just let us know. {30 days prior to seminar the speaker will mail you a master copy of his/her handout for you to reproduce in sufficient number for each participant to receive one copy.}

Can we use your speakers to fill a slot at our symposium?
We can provide speakers for presentations lasting 45-minutes to half/full-day pre-conferences to help with your symposiums. Click on lecture topics or full-day seminars to view a list of current course offerings.

Are there any contracts or obligations?
Yes, we require a standard signed contract and a non-refundable 10% deposit to reserve a lecture date for your organization.

If we want to set-up a full-day seminar for our staff instead of sending them to an off-site seminar, is it really cost effective?
This is the most cost effective way to train a large number of employees at one time. In many instances, we can tailor programs to fit your specific needs.

How are Peds-R-Us lectures & seminars different from other programs I’ve attended?
We primarily teach about kids and those who work with sick children understand that it is essential to provide the best possible care, but with a sense of humor. All of our speakers not only have years of experience working with critically ill children, but also have caring and entertaining demeanors. Simply summarized, we teach better ways to care for kids. You will love our programs! We guarantee it!!

If we set-up an in-house program for our staff, can we invite outside medical personnel to attend?
Yes, and we encourage it! If your facility wants to co-sponsor a program with another agency that it perfectly fine. Many times nurses and paramedics are in need of CEU’s, and if your institution charges a nominal fee for attendance, some of your course expenses can be minimized.

Is there ever a limit to the number that can attend an in-house seminar we sponsor?
The only limitation is the capacity of your auditorium or conference room.

If we host an in-house seminar, who does the advertising?
For in-house presentations, the primary advertising is the responsibility of the hosting agency.  Peds-R-Us will provide art work and photo's at your request.

Who are Peds-R-Us seminars geared for?
Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, & paramedics of all specialties, but especially those working in pediatrics, emergency/EMS, critical care, neonatal, & labor & delivery units will benefit most from the information presented in our seminars.

What type of guarantee does Peds-R-Us Medical Education offer?
The quality of Peds-R-Us Medical Education, L.L.C. seminars has been attested to by thousands of participants who have attended throughout the United States. This makes it possible to offer an extremely liberal refund policy. If you are not satisfied with the return on your investment, notify your speaker before the end of the seminar, and we will refund your fee in full.
